Interior of Temple
In Malaysia selling Thailand t-shirt?? Try to bargain to the seller if you interested to buy anything there, you could get surpisingly cheap price than you never imagine.
Beach in Batu Ferringi, many activities and water sports on evening hours. Do not just wear bikini or your thong get to the beach, take some cash for some games over there too!
Fisherman's Jetty at Batu Mauh, there is a famaus temple there called " San Bao Gong Temple" Its historical China great hero came to Msia and left a foot print on that place, you might need to see it to wonder whether legend or fake rumour.
Actually Penang is nothing fun for me, used to be there since small, can consider a boring place, but since many friends like to take it as a tourism place, no idea i have to be tour guide to bring them travel around.
For me, the interesting part in Penang is the foods are nicer and cheaper compare to somewhere else especially KL, wuakakaka. For my personal opinion to get best food over Penang may try get at George Town, like Jalan5, People used to call "GOK tiao Lok" the market there, you can get different type of food like like famaus one, Hokian Mee, Laksa, WanTan Mee, Popiak and etc. The second one will be Air Itam Laksa, next to the dirty drain one, and Gurney Drive Food Street.
Places to travel? Mmm... If you prefer historical stuffs, you may try in George Town old street which nearby the Komtar, Prigin Mall, a lot of chinese old temple and old building which will potrait a historical theme for your photography. Next will be Cable Car in Penang Hill/Bukit Bendera, Air Itam , Ji-Lok Temple also. If you travel around there, don't forget try up Penang Branch Asian Cafe over there just in front of Bkt Bendera.
Beaches? Batu Ferringi no question, but quite far away from city about 20km but i used cycled to there. There have several famaus hotels like Golden Sand, Sri Sayang, Shangli-la hotel. Beside that, famaus seafood restaurant also can found in there, you may try up THE SHIP if you're budget enough, my advice below RM500 do not try to get up the ship. Other that Batu Ferringi, the beach near Queenbay's Mall also quit not bad, you can take the whole night scene with Penang Bridge on that place. Day time there is a small ferry service to let tourists travel to next island, i forgot what is the island's name called...It cost RM35 per person.
Shopping Malls? Pragin Mall, Queen's Bay Mall, Gurney Plaza no question, now new launched Penang TimeSquare in Town but i haven't check it out.
Night life? Well, there are many clubs in Penang but don't ask me cause i don't often club in Penang too bad. Or else i suggest you sit at Gurney Drive roundabout see Mat-Rempit race cars, quite happening especially in weekend night you could get buble guns and some fireworks seller, and also street perfomancers.
Overall, Penang can rated as 8/10 for tour, much more budget spending compare to KL.
P/S Not fully detail about Penang, there are much more infomation coming up just check up the updates.
